Threading our roots:
Though Society Enterprises has been known to sew, we have started much earlier as merchants selling textile on wheels via jeepney. Our founder, Pantaleon Peña Sr. travels barangay to barangay selling fabric and other sewing materials during market days.
The business grew when Aurelia, Pantaleon's wife, based their trade in Sto. Domingo Nabua and began sewing dresses. The skill of sewing, she learned and mastered with only pure creativity and ingenuity, and no formal training. The spouses worked together building a good business reputation not only as sewers but as bakers and lessors of various items like utensils and tables and chairs.
In 1980's, their daughters, Nenita Peña-Beltran and Adelaida Peña Vargas, after getting their college degrees pursued to continue the sewing business separately. Nenita put up her own dress shop in Pili while Adelaida put up hers in Iriga City.
Our business is truly family grown and nurtured. We have stayed true and honest to our trade. As every one of our customers, we have been as classic as our history and as elegant as what is fashioned.
